Overall Soul Eater isn’t just some supernatural action manga it is a unique series that can really stand out. Character expressions are also well drawn which is very important to scenes. Action scenes are well drawn and hardly end up chaotic and hard to follow which could happen. It has a Halloween feel to it like the spooky laughing moon and sun in the sky which is very fitting to the general premise to the series. Each character in the series is always accounted for and never just fades away. One could almost say that this series has seven main characters that share the spotlight. They act almost as an extra set of main characters. Almost every character adds something interesting to the plot especially two other weapon and meister combos, Black Star & Tsubaki and Death the Kid & the Thompson sisters. Which can be chaotic and disjointed if handled the wrong way but Atsushi Okubo handles it nicely. The series follows a variety of characters other than Maka & Soul. Atsushi Okubo also tries to lighten the mood with a bit of fan service but it’s not too over the top or graphic most of the time. That being said this series isn’t just all serious in fact it has a fair share of humor every now and then that can sometimes be sidesplitting. Not to mention being partners with a pretty cool and popular guy in Soul it can sometimes go into the drama side. Being teenage students can be hard especially when one strive to be the best as so many students at DWMA do especially Maka. Action isn’t the only element to the series. However there are consequences for eating good spirits. Another is the fact that humans that are weapons can eat spirits too. One of those unique elements is humans being born with the ability to transform into weapons. Soul Eater is basically your typical supernatural action series with the bad guys being evil spirits. If she can overcome these she may be the key to saving the world from madness itself. She strives to be an ultimate meister like her mom once was but in order to do that she must overcome a lot of obstacles one being simply getting along with her partner Soul. This series follows a certain meister named Maka Alburn who is a student at DWMA.
